This Bill is a new education benefit program for individuals who served on active duty on or after September 11, 2001. The Post-9/11 GI Bill will pay your tuition based upon the highest in-state tuition charged by a public educational institution in the state where the school is located and a student could receive housing allowance and a book stipend. The amount of support that people may qualify for depends on where they live and what type of degree they are pursuing. If you are a member of the Armed Forces on August 1, 2009, the Department of Defense (DoD) may offer you the opportunity to transfer benefits to your spouse or dependent children.
