IES National Center for Education Statistics. U.S. Department of Education and Institute of Education Sciences. Annual reports, data tools, tables, figures, Fast Facts. Includes information for a wide range of education-related categories. Public Schools and District Locators link provides information on specific school districts, including teacher-student ratios, fiscal information, and students completing high school by ethnicity and other factors.
FedStats - one of the nice features of this web site includes MapStats, an interactive site. If you wish to use this site to locate information on Hardin County, do the following: select Kentucky from the drop-down menu; select Hardin County; click on the choices provided, such as Crime, Economics, Agriculture and Population Estimates. Statistics by Geography from U.S. Agencies includes Demographic and Economic State and County Profiles, which provides such information as population numbers, numbers and percentages by race, age, educational attainment, etc.

Kentucky State Police - especially useful for traffic statistics (including DUI violations by county) and crime statistics. The crime reports currently available date from 1995 to 2009. The traffic reports currently available cover the years 1995 to 2009. Crime and traffic reports available through the Crime and Traffic Publications link.
Kentucky.gov. The Official Commonwealth of Kentucky web portal. Statistics available under the Residents link; click on Records and Statistics under Category.
Kentucky State Data Center. Provides Kentucky data for a variety of topics, including demographics, education, workforce, housing, income, poverty levels and employment. Many of the reports require Microsoft Excel for viewing.
Kentucky Cabinet for Health Services. Statistics available for a range of health topics, including breast cancer, health care coverage, heart disease, domestic violence and more. National, state or state and national statistics only.
National Center for Education Statistics - federal agency responsible for compiling and analyzing federal education statistics
National Criminal Justice Reference Service. Statistics for a wide range of topics pertaining to criminal justice; national statistics only, except when study focuses on state differences. Sample topics include profiles of jail inmates, juveniles in correction, and civil trials and verdicts in large counties.

Statistical Abstracts of the United States. Although the U.S. Census Bureau has terminated support for the publication of the Abstracts it has continued to make the 2012 and earlier editions available. Extremely comprehensive collection of national statistical information covering a wide range of topics; some state statistics available. Historical figures available as well as current ones.
