ECTC’s Nurse Aide Training Program is approved by the Kentucky Department for Medicaid Services for the training of nursing assistants for long-term care. This course is designed to provide knowledge and skills for nurse aides to assume the role and responsibility required in long-term care. The focus in this course is on communication, infection control, safety, resident’s rights and basic nursing skills. The course consists of lecture, skills lab, and at least 16 hours of supervised clinical training in a long-term care facility. Students receive 3 college credit hours for the 80 clock-hour course.
