At ECTC, cultural diversity describes an inclusive community of learners with varied characteristics, ideas, and world views related, but not limited, to race, gender, ethnicity, ability, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, age, military & life experience, religion, geographical region, or ancestry. Our goal is to create a safe, supportive campus environment that honors and reflects the rich diversity in the communities we serve.
The office of Cultural Diversity strives to achieve this goal by providing support and leadership in:
- Diversity Plan: implementation, training, reporting, and collaboration with stakeholders;
- Student Opportunity & Success: recruitment, retention, transfer, and credential completion/graduation;
- Cultural Enrichment & Campus Climate: heritage celebrations, forums, & activities;
- Cultivating Community Partnerships: development of partnerships & programs that foster a college going culture among area youth.
We believe that participating in an engaging environment that values diversity is critical for our community to be productive members of the global society.
