Cultural Diversity

At ECTC, cultural diversity describes an inclusive community of learners with varied characteristics, ideas, and world views related, but not limited, to race, gender, ethnicity, ability, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, age, military & life experience, religion, geographical region, or ancestry. Our goal is to create a safe, supportive campus environment that honors and reflects the rich diversity in the communities we serve.

The office of Cultural Diversity strives to achieve this goal by providing support and leadership in:

  1. Diversity Plan: implementation, training, reporting, and collaboration with stakeholders;
  2. Student Opportunity & Success: recruitment, retention, transfer, and credential completion/graduation;
  3. Cultural Enrichment & Campus Climate: heritage celebrations, forums, & activities;
  4. Cultivating Community Partnerships: development of partnerships & programs that foster a college going culture among area youth.

The Department of Cultural Diversity of ECTC works to improve URM/Underserved student populations by addressing barriers and connecting to resources to enhance student success, works to maintain and develop a healthy, diverse, and inclusive campus community to include faculty, staff, and students, and equips students in our region to exist and thrive in a diverse region and workforce.
