Computerized Manufacturing and Machining

If you like hands-on work, this is the degree for you!

In the Computerized Manufacturing and Machining program you will learn the fundamentals of metals, machines and machine tools. You will be instructed in the proper operation of machining equipment including the lathe, milling machine, bandsaw, grinder, drill press, Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) turning, CNC Milling, CNC Wire Electrical Discharge Machine (EDM), Sinker Electrical Discharge Machine (EDM) and Computer Aided Machining (CAD, CAM, CNC) programming. Your classroom instruction will be concentrated on blueprint reading, abrasives, layout work and the manufacturing process.

What are my career choices?

Machine tool technicians make things happen. Employment opportunities are steadily increasing; almost every product manufactured requires the skills of a highly trained machine tool technician. You will find opportunities for employment in manufacturing plants, private machine shops and through self-employment.

Where do I start?

Apply for admission to ECTC to receive information from the Admissions Office about submitting your placement test scores (ACT or COMPASS exams) and to schedule a meeting with an advisor to register for your classes.
