Carrie Ann Pride

Community News Coordinator, The Kentucky Standard

Service is important to Carrie Ann Pride.

“I just like to give back in some capacity,” she said. “Elizabethtown Community and Technical College is important to the community, and I want to make sure everyone is aware of what they can do for students.”

Pride would like to use her time on the ECTC Foundation board to focus on expanding diversity. She’d like to reach out to at-risk, underserved communities to help them have better knowledge of available educational opportunities and expand their career choices.

“It will be beneficial to use my experience to encourage support for programs that promote diversity and raise awareness for grants, scholarships, and other opportunities that help students build a future,” she said. “The ECTC Foundation will allow more people in the community to learn what the college does for the region and how it helps students reach their full potential.”

Pride is community news coordinator for The Kentucky Standard in Bardstown and serves on the paper’s editorial board. She also serves on the Bardstown-Nelson County Chamber of Commerce’s Diversity Committee and Bardstown Main Street Committee. She lives in Bardstown and has one son and seven grandchildren.
