Family Scholar House:
How to Help

One of the roles of the ECTC Foundation is to foster student success by building relationships with organizations that can help improve the lives of students. One such partnership is with Family Scholar House, which works to ease financial and situational burdens that could prevent a student from continuing their education at ECTC.

Each year, Family Scholar House serves disadvantaged individuals and families with a comprehensive, holistic continuum of care and empower them towards their educational, career and family goals.

Ways to support Family Scholar House

Volunteers are always needed and welcome.

• Food: Peas, green beans, sausage & gravy in a can, tuna, soups, mixed veggies, peanut butter crackers, breakfast bars, granola bars, mayo, mustard, ketchup, relish, water, instant potatoes, taco shells and seasoning, oatmeal packets, spaghetti noodles and sauce, rice packets, pickles, corn, etc.
• Household Goods: dish soap, laundry soap, body wash, shampoo and conditioner, sandwich bags, trash bags, cleaning products, feminine hygiene products, dental floss, baby diapers and wipes, toothpaste, toilet paper, shaving cream, razors, deodorant, disinfectant spray, etc.
• Gift Cards: Grocery gift cards from stores like Kroger, Wal-Mart, Target and Aldi allow us to purchase perishable food items such as eggs and meat); Gas gift cards are helpful for transportation.
• Snack Bags: Reusable shopping bag filled with small water bottle, veggie straws/pretzels, fruit cup and spoon, granola bar and an encouraging note. (Bags with company logos are fine.)
