Having served in healthcare management and leadership for more than 40 years, Wayne Meriwether believes access to relevant education and training is vital not only for students’ personal success but also for the growth and prosperity of the region.
“I believe the key to success is higher education in the form of either an advanced degree or learning a trade or skill. ECTC shares these same beliefs and is working hard to make these types of learning opportunities available to our local communities,” he said. “As ECTC continues to add innovative programs and facilities, our entire region will benefit.”
The retired CEO of Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center has long supported bringing new educational opportunities to the community, most notably through the establishment of ECTC’s Leitchfield campus and the medical center’s support of ECTC’s University Center, which will bring four-year university partners to the region to offer bachelor’s degrees in high demand career fields including nursing. Now retired, he looks forward to helping advance the work of the college as an ECTC Foundation Board member.
Meriwether and his wife, Carol, live in Leitchfield and have two adult children.
