Distinguished Alumni Spotlight: Dr. Phillip 'Devin' Harris

Our Distinguished Alumni Spotlight features recent award winners who’ve been recognized as part of ECTC’s annual Profiles of Excellence Dinner. Our winners are nominated for their notable influence and determination over time throughout their profession, family, and community. Nominations are reviewed and selected by the ECTC President’s Cabinet and Departmental Division Chairs. These individuals are the true embodiment of the many ways ECTC leads to better lives, and it’s an honor to share their stories.

Dr. Phillip “Deven” Harris is the Owner/CEO of White Tie Solutions, a consulting firm which guides clients in business structuring and development efforts. He also serves as Chief Operating Officer of BCH Holdings.

Harris was raised in a military family and considers Elizabethtown to be his home, where he currently lives with his wife, Tawanda.

Dr. Harris’ career is comprised of over twenty years of experience in both the public and private sectors. He has served in a variety of business areas including Federal Government Human Resources and Healthcare Management.

Harris attended ECTC in 2002, then went on to acquire a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership & Learning with a track in Workplace Performance from the University of Louisville in 2010 and a master’s in Business Administration from American University in 2011. In 2022, he obtained his Doctorate from Virginia University-Lynchburg. Add to this his military education in such specialties as Project Management and Budget Officer courses, and it’s easy to understand how Harris has become an expert in multiple business and management fields.

Demonstrating an exemplary service record, Dr. Harris has received the Kentucky Colonel Award, Human Resources Command Meritorious Unit Award, Meritorious Civilian Service Award and Civilian Service Medal (2022) and multiple certificates of appreciation from various organizations in our community.

During his time at ECTC, Harris appreciated the small class sizes, which allowed him to build a personal rapport with experienced faculty. He credits Mr. Robert Harris for helping him overcome his fear of math, which transformed a once-daunting subject into the foundation for his passion for business.

ECTC’s Distinguished Alumni Program recognizes graduates and former students for their successes and exemplary service to their professions and communities. Nominees must have completed a credential (degree, diploma and/or certificate) from ECTC, or have been enrolled as a student at ECC/ETC/ECTC, at least five years ago. Self-nomination is permitted. Active members of the ECTC faculty and staff are not eligible for consideration. To nominate someone, fill out the 2026 Distinguished Alumni Nomination Form.
