Our Distinguished Alumni Spotlight features recent award winners who’ve been recognized as part of ECTC’s annual Profiles of Excellence Dinner. Our winners are nominated for their notable influence and determination over time throughout their profession, family, and community. Nominations are reviewed and selected by the ECTC President’s Cabinet and Departmental Division Chairs. These individuals are the true embodiment of the many ways ECTC leads to better lives, and it’s an honor to share their stories.
Keith Taul currently serves as Judge/Executive for Hardin County and is focused on improving county services.
An eighth-generation farmer, Taul grew up on his father’s dairy farm in Cecilia. The eldest of three children, Keith spent his youth working on the family farm and in the family's agriculture equipment business, Taul Equipment.
Upon graduation from West Hardin High School in 1976, Keith attended Elizabethtown Community College (ECC) and holds a BS and a MS in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Kentucky. He spent over 35 years assuming increasingly challenging positions at several companies, primarily at AP Technoglass/AGC.
He started Taul Innovations, LLC, as a Continuous Improvement Consultant and Trainer, training companies on lean implementation methodology and strategy, primarily working for ECTC Workforce Solutions & George Group Consulting.
Keith serves as an elder at Crossroads Baptist Church in Elizabethtown. From his time at ECTC, he recalls the twelve-hour monster final exam from Dr. Linda Mayhew in Calculus. Taul admits she gave him hope to understand difficult mathematical concepts that led to two engineering degrees. He complained to her recently about how much he was scarred by those experiences, and she countered that he seemed to have survived.
ECTC’s Distinguished Alumni Program recognizes graduates and former students for their successes and exemplary service to their professions and communities. Nominees must have completed a credential (degree, diploma and/or certificate) from ECTC, or have been enrolled as a student at ECC/ETC/ECTC, at least five years ago. Self-nomination is permitted. Active members of the ECTC faculty and staff are not eligible for consideration. To nominate someone, fill out the 2026 Distinguished Alumni Nomination Form.
