Ways to Honor Your Loved One
Invite memorial gifts in lieu of flowers
Families may designate ECTC Foundation as a recipient of memorial contributions in an obituary, funeral announcement, or celebration of life program. Friends and family can make gifts in memory of their loved one, creating a collective tribute that supports future generations. Please contact ECTC Foundation if you choose to include this option in an obituary so we can ensure any gifts received are applied to the intended purpose, and an online giving option is available to accept contributions.
Create a meaningful tribute
Memorial contributions may support an area of ECTC that reflects your loved one's interests, values, or personal story. Options include:
- Student scholarships: Help students pursue their educational and career goals.
- Student Emergency Fund: Assist students facing unexpected financial hardships that could interrupt their education.
- Instructional programs and resources: Support hands-on learning, specialized equipment, and career training.
- The Foundation's greatest needs: Provide flexible support to address emerging opportunities and student needs.
- Personalized impact: Families interested in establishing a named scholarship, new gift fund, or endowment are encouraged to contact the Foundation to discuss available options. We can customize an approach to achieve your philanthropic goals and honor your loved one’s memory.
Suggested Obituary Language
Families are welcome to use or adapt the following language in an obituary, memorial announcement, or funeral program.
Option 1: General Memorial Gift
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Elizabethtown Community & Technical College Foundation in memory of [Full Name], supporting educational opportunities for students in our community.
Option 2: Supporting a Specific Cause
To honor [Full Name]'s commitment to [education/helping others/a specific field],
memorial gifts may be made to Elizabethtown Community & Technical College Foundation
to support [scholarships/the Student Emergency Fund/a designated program].
Option 3: Celebrating a Lasting Legacy
The family invites those wishing to celebrate [Full Name]'s life to make a memorial
contribution to Elizabethtown Community & Technical College Foundation. These gifts
will honor [his/her/their] legacy by helping students build brighter futures through
education.
How to Make a Memorial Gift
Online: Donors may support any existing fund by giving online at ectc.us/give.
If you want to create a named fund or endowment, contact ECTC Foundation in advance to ensure an online giving option is available.
By check: Make checks payable to ECTC Foundation with In Memory of [Full Name]” noted in the memo line. Checks can be mailed to ECTC Foundation, 600 College Street Rd., Elizabethtown, KY 42701
