Class Schedule Update
ECTC planning for in-person Fall 2021 classes
Elizabethtown Community and Technical College will offer in-person classes at all its campuses during the Fall 2021 semester.
Considering the regional downward trend in COVID-19 cases and increasing vaccine availability, the college plans to offer a fall schedule that meets student demand for in-person instruction. Most ECTC classes transitioned to online instruction in March 2020. Since then, in-person classes largely have been limited to hands-on labs.
“So many of our students have been waiting for this,” ECTC President Dr. Juston Pate said. “For some, in-person classes are a better fit for their learning style. Others thrive on campus activity, and others are among the 30% of students who simply don’t have reliable internet access.”
Students will find nearly as many on-campus classes as before the pandemic. The college will continue to offer online classes, which many students find convenient, especially those who work full time.
“If we see a spike in cases or new CDC or state-level policies that restrict in-person instruction, we’ll be ready to transition and help our students stay on track,” Pate said.
Throughout the pandemic, the college has adapted to provide flexible options to students and will continue to do so, he noted.
“We’re so grateful to the students, faculty and staff who adapted to the online options that helped mitigate the spread of COVID-19 on our campuses and throughout our community,” ECTC Healthy at Work Officer Whitney Taylor said. “We’ll continue to prioritize health and safety and follow guidelines related to the pandemic.”
Fall classes begin Aug. 16. Summer and fall enrollment is now underway.
