Short term classes available, to begin in September and October

Published on Aug 20, 2020

Fall 2020 Semester has begun at Elizabethtown Community and Technical College. Students began classes Aug. 17, moving forward with their educational and career plans in a safe and clean environment on campus, or from the safety and convenience of their homes, or a combination of both.

The unusual circumstances of this year have left some people feeling uncertain about decisions regarding college, and struggling with new challenges and barriers to achieving their goals. ECTC’s 12-week and 8-week classes, which start Sept. 14 and Oct. 12 respectively, offer some options that allow people to keep their plans on track. Both options include online and on-campus classes.  These shorter 12-week and 8-week classes allow students to earn the same credit as full-semester, 16-week classes.

The 12-week and 8-week classes include, but are not limited to, a variety of general education classes like: Sociology, Anthropology, Art, Public Speaking, Economics, Government, Psychology, Women’s Studies, Medical Terminology and more. All 12-week classes are available online, and several have on-campus options.

In addition, the 8-week session includes classes in Art, Cultural Diversity, Chemistry, Intro to Computers,  Computer-aided Drafting and Design, Criminal Justice, Economics, Education, History, Leadership, Business, Writing, Geography, Philosophy, Sociology, Psychology, and more.

ECTC is taking all precautions to assure that students, faculty, staff and visitors are safe and healthy on campus. Masks are required of everyone on campus, and social distancing will be enforced. Classrooms are set up to allow for at least six feet between students. In classes where distancing is not possible, like certain labs, instructors will guide students on the appropriate protocol. High touch areas are cleaned frequently and regularly. We will not require temperature checks on campus, but we ask that everyone self-evaluate before coming to campus. If you show any signs of COVID-19, please stay home and consult your healthcare provider.
