The College Experience
Whether you are just out of high school, or returning to college as an adult, college life is a lot different than you're used to and the experience can be challenging. Want to know what you expect as you head off into this wonderful world of higher education?
Change in Workload
One of the first things you'll notice is the workload and it will be heavier than you've probably experienced before. Lots of reading and writing assignments, meeting deadlines, and balancing your workload with your busy life. However, most students find that they quickly adjust to the new environment and settle in to their individual rhythm.
You will experience a rich ethnic and socially diverse community and you'll be making a lot of new friends, people that you will likely stay in contact with for many years to come. You have to exercise discipline, the college experience offers you a lot of freedom, but you have to balance that freedom with a healthy dose of responsibility to be successful.
We always have a lot of exciting activities for students to participate in, clubs and organizations, special events like the Spring Fling sponsored by the Student Government Association, the Morrison Gallery, plays, cultural events, lots of things you can do to relax and have fun.
Your college experience is what you make of it. The education that you receive will be high quality and allow you to move forward into a more productive and satisfying life, and we will be there to help you reach your goals every step of the way.
