At ECTC students can enjoy sports, either as players or spectators. Currently, we have women’s volleyball and men’s basketball, and we’ve offered both men’s and women’s soccer in the past. There’s always a possibility for additional sports, if we have the interest.
Our teams are organized as club sports, which play against other college and university teams. Club sports provide an opportunity for student athletes to enhance their athletic and intellectual skills through teamwork, sportsmanship, and competition.
Our club sports are designed to provide a quality experience for the student athlete. We maintain high standards of academic achievement, and student athletes must be full-time students in good academic standing. We encourage students to continue to enjoy the sports they had played in middle and high school, and non-traditional students also can participate. While we don’t offer athletic scholarships right now, there is the possibility that high-performing athletes could be offered opportunities to continue in their sports at transfer institutions.
ECTC students or prospective students who are interested in playing on one of our teams should contact Dr. Dale Buckles at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you are interested in a sport we don’t currently offer, like soccer, tennis, or others, let Dr. Buckles know that as well.
