Ms. French began her career teaching business courses at Jefferson Technical College and taught at Elizabethtown Technical College, where she advised the student organization Phi Beta Lambda. In 1991, she was selected as the first Dean of Academic Affairs in the Kentucky Technical College System. In that position, Sue gained extensive experience working with curriculum committees, course scheduling, registration, Perkins grants, advisory committees, accreditation, new faculty training, articulation and dual credit, and professional development. From 2002-2004 she served as the Chief Administrative Officer of Elizabethtown Technical College when it consolidated with Elizabethtown Community College and formed Elizabethtown Community and Technical College.

Sue graduated with high distinction and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Education from the University of Kentucky; a Master of Arts degree in Business from the University of Kentucky along with Certification for Administration, Supervision, and Coordination of Vocational Education; and a Rank I certification in Higher Education Administration from Western Kentucky University with endorsements as Supervisor of Instruction, Director of Pupil Personnel, and Superintendent.

Ms. French was the recipient of the National Business Education Association Award of Merit by the University of Kentucky Business Education Faculty; First Place National and Kentucky Phi Beta Lambda Ms. Future Business Teacher, and the Kentucky Association of Educational Office Professional Administrator of the Year. She is a graduate of the Southern Business Education Association Leadership Academy, Leadership Elizabethtown, and the KCTCS President's Leadership Seminar.
