Meade County Open House, Class Schedules Announced

Elizabethtown Community and Technical College has announced the fall semester class offerings at its new site at the Meade County College and Career Center, 110 Greer St. in Brandenburg.

Students may complete everything they need for classes that start Aug. 13 at Express Enrollment, set for 2-6 p.m. July 26 and 27 at the Meade County site. Also, the community is encouraged to visit the center at an open house from 5-7 p.m. July 30.

“We’re excited to offer a range of classes that make a college education more convenient and more attainable for residents of Meade County and the surrounding area,” said Paul Sturgeon, ECTC Meade County site director. “We also want to emphasize that there is still time to register for the fall semester, and we encourage prospective students to take advantage of Express Enrollment.”

Students will be able to take a mix of classes in Meade County for high-demand technical programs as well as classes that fulfill general education requirements.

Classes include:

  • COM 181 – Public Speaking, Monday, 5:30 – 8:15 p.m.
  • HIS 104 – A History of Europe Through the Mid-17th Century, Tuesday, 5:30 – 8:15 p.m.
  • MAT 150 – College Algebra, Tuesday/Thursday, 5:30 – 6:45 p.m.
  • BAS 160 – Intro to Business, Tuesday/Thursday, 5:30 – 6:45 p.m.
  • SOC 101 – Sociology, Wednesday, 5:30 – 8:15 p.m.
  • ENG 101 – Writing I, Wednesday, 5:30 – 8:15 p.m.
  • CIT 105 – Intro to Computers, Thursday, 5:30 – 8:15 p.m.
  • WLD 121 – Shielded Metal Arc Welding Fillet Lab, Monday/Wednesday, 5:30 – 8:30 p.m.
    (WLD 121 is blocked with online class WLD 120 – Shielded Metal Arc Welding.)
  • NAA 100 – Nursing Assistant Skills I, Tuesday/Thursday, Sept. 25 – Dec. 6, 4-9 p.m.
    (NAA 100 has a 45-hour lab/clinical component in addition to class meeting time.)
  • CMM 110 – Fundamentals of Machine Tools A, Tuesday/Thursday, 5:30-7:30 p.m.
    (CMM 110 is a hybrid class with a portion of the content taught online.)
  • EET 119 – Basic Electricity, Tuesday/Thursday, 5:30-8:30 p.m.
    (EET 119 is a hybrid class with a portion of the content taught online.)
  • AHS 115 – Medical Terminology, Tuesday/Thursday, 5:30-6:45 p.m.
  • COM 205 – Business & Professional Communication, Tuesday/Thursday, 7:35-8:50 p.m.
  • BRX 112 – Blueprint Reading for Machinists, online
