Twice the legacy: Mother and daughter headed to ECTC

July 13, 2026

Chasing dreams is family affair for Tara Linfoot and Kaitlyn Goodman, and the mother-daughter duo is counting down the days until the Fall 2026 semester.

A new graduate of Meade County High School, Goodman said she chose ECTC for several reasons. It’s close to home. She’ll attend tuition free. And she thought the Introduction to Computers class she took as a dual credit student was fun but challenging.

All the while, Linfoot watched her daughter make her postsecondary plans. It’s not too late to join her, she thought. She wanted to study radiography a decade ago, but life got in the way. Now, she’s ready and excited to start prerequisite classes for ECTC’s radiography program.

“The paycheck after I graduate. That is the light at the end of the tunnel,” she said, smiling at her daughter. “We’re both trying to better our lives.”

Goodman is pursuing a degree in computer and information technology. She, too, is ready to get the semester underway, having attended new student orientation and familiarizing herself with various student services.

“I feel like everywhere you turn at ECTC, people are saying ‘support, support, support,’” she said.

New classes start Aug. 17. To apply, complete the free admissions application.
