First Year Experience (FYE)
The ECTC First-Year Experience program is designed to provide support and guidance as you transition into the college environment. We begin with the FYE 105 course where the curriculum introduces you to strategies that promote academic, personal, and professional success in college. This course also introduces you to other first-year students, clubs and activities on campus, and provides you with many opportunities to develop your professional and academic resume.
In addition to this course, the FYE program also runs a student lounge known as “The Lift” where you can relax between classes. The Lift Lounge (located in the ATB building in room 102) has a laid back, coffee-shop aesthetic where you can grab a free cup of coffee, an occasional snack, watch some television, and charge your devices on the charging stations/tables. Within the Lift, you also have access to our FYE Success Coaches. Success Coaches are FYE staff members who are dedicated to helping students reach their educational goals, and you can find all the Success Coaches and their contact information listed below.
- Establish, develop, implement, and work with academics on the FYE 105 orientation course
- Work with the first-year students pursuing AA or AS degrees as their Success Coach
