WIN Center

The WIN (Windows for Intellectual Networking) Center focuses primarily on providing ALL students with the opportunity to receive tutoring assistance in general education courses, as well as additional program specific courses, such as anatomy and physiology and chemistry. The WIN Center serves as the location for a peer mentoring program designed to pair returning ECTC students with first year students in need of guidance and assistance navigating their postsecondary education experience. The WIN Center hosts a variety of lunch and learn workshop opportunities for all students to obtain information regarding resources on campus, gain valuable skills to ensure academic, personal/social, and career success, and network with community leaders to expand job shadowing, internship, and career exploration opportunities.

The WIN Center also coordinates a program called the Essential Skills Academy. This academy is designed to help students obtain the soft skills they need to get their foot in the door in the company/career/industry/etc. they are interested in pursuing, as well as obtain the soft skills needed to help them advance in their chosen profession. All ECTC students have the opportunity to submit an application to the academy each fall or spring academic semester. Upon acceptance, student participants attend two workshops that teach students a variety of soft skills needed to be successful in the workforce. Participants are also required to complete a mock interview with our career services department on campus, as well as submit resumes and cover letters for review and editing. Students completing the academy will receive a $200 scholarship, a cord to wear with their gown at graduation, and a certification to add to their resume. The Essential Skills Academy partners with employers within the region who will post and advertise their positions as having a preference in hiring ECTC Essential Skills Academy graduates.
