College Ready

  • HS GPA:  3.0
  • ACT:  20
  • KYOTE:  20
  • TABE:  12.5+
  • Course to Enroll in:  No reading course required
  • Pathway:  Any general education course

Reading Corequisite

  • HS GPA:  2.2-2.9
  • ACT:  16-19
  • KYOTE:  12-19
  • TABE:  10.0-12.4
  • Course to Enroll in:  RDG 100/(Old RDG 30) Concurrently enroll in 100-level humanities, heritage, social/behavioral science, or nonmajor science general education course. 3 credit hours/counts in GPA
  • Pathway:  Next—No further reading course required.

Developmental

  • HS GPA:  < 2.2
  • ACT:  11-15

  • Course to Enroll in:  RDG 20 3 credit hours

RDG 100 MUST BE PAIRED with app. Gen Ed in same Bi-Term.

Compass hasn’t been used in awhile so a student would need to re-test if only Compass Scores.

Students who have completed 12 hours of general education courses with a 2.0 GPA are College Ready.

Students may re-test at the end of RDG 020 to attempt to place into College Ready.

RDG 100—3 credit hours, transfers as an elective, earns letter grades, calculates in the GPA.

RDG 020—3 credit hours, earns letter grades.

ECTC will accept scores from all placement tests listed in the current KCTCS Assessment and Placement Policy including the scores in the Appendix of Older or Uncommon Measures.
