Graduating Debt Free at ECTC
Computer Information Technology graduate Wyatt Lang completed his degree debt free and is looking forward to his next steps thanks to the Work Ready Kentucky Scholarship (WRKS).
“I graduated from North Hardin High School and when deciding on a college, cost was the biggest thing to consider,” Lang said. “I chose ECTC to get a quality education at half the cost. With the Work Ready Kentucky Scholarship, I only had to pay for books, so I was able to graduate debt free.”
Since 2017, nearly 1,100 ECTC students have been awarded $3.7 million in WRKS funding.
Lang went on to complete and become a teaching assistant for the Greater Knox Coding Academy because he wanted to expand his knowledge in coding, and open as many doors for employment as possible.
ECTC was the right choice for continuing his education, he said. “What I love most about ECTC is that I was able to graduate debt free and build a network of professionals in my field,” he said.
Lang will transfer to Western Kentucky University for a bachelor's degree in Computer Information Technology this fall and will continue as a teaching assistant with the Coding Academy.
When asked for his advice to someone planning to further their education, he said, “figure it out debt free at ECTC.”
