Donors pledge up to $250K match for ECTC’s University Center

Published on Sep 24, 2021

Donations to Elizabethtown Community and Technical College’s University Center campaign will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $250,000 thanks to anonymous donors through Central Kentucky Community Foundation. Gifts made through Oct. 28 will qualify for matching funds.

“The donors demonstrate remarkable generosity by using their resources to encourage others to make an even more meaningful contribution to higher education in our region,” said ECTC President Dr. Juston Pate.

More than $70,000 in gifts, pledges and statements of intent have been made to date, meaning $180,000 in matching funds remain.

Through the University Center, four-year colleges and universities will offer high-demand bachelor’s and master’s degrees on ECTC’s Elizabethtown campus. Students will complete their associate degrees through ECTC and then transfer to a University Center partner institution to complete their bachelor’s degrees. The Student Center will be renovated to house University Center partners and services for ECTC transfer students as well as serve as a hub for student life.

“When I think about the interest and investment in the University Center campaign, I’m excited for the future of our region. Access to local, affordable education that aligns with our regions’ career opportunities is going to have a positive impact on our communities for generations to come,” said Kenny Rambo, University Center campaign co-chair and president of Heartland Communications Consultants. “With the matching funds in place, we have an incredible opportunity to make this vision a reality.”
