ECTC donation increases dental services at Community Health Clinic

Equipment from Elizabethtown Community and Technical College’s discontinued dental hygiene program is creating new opportunities for Community Health Clinic in Elizabethtown.
The equipment will allow the clinic to begin offering on-site dental services. The donation includes three examination chairs, X-ray equipment, and lab equipment to make and shape dentures, crowns and partials.
“Purchasing new equipment is simply not possible, so we were very excited the college offered this like-new equipment,” said Executive Director Venus Cornette. “It’s going to mean a lot to the patients we serve.”
The donated equipment will outfit three exam rooms in the clinic. Previously, patients were referred to volunteer dentists’ offices.
“We wanted the equipment to benefit the community, and Community Health Clinic is the perfect partner,” said ECTC Chief Finance and Facilities Officer Brent Holsclaw. “The clinic provides a vital service in our area and we are proud to help them increase capacity.”
