Fuller rocks air conditioning technology program

Thanks to the Metallica Scholars Scholarship, Elizabethtown Community and Technical College (ECTC) student Hadden Fuller is concentrating more on learning a trade and less on paying for college.
“The Metallica Scholars Program has helped me with my degree so I don’t have to overwork myself,” he said. “I don’t have to worry if I can afford college. It allows me more time to focus on my studies.”
Fuller, a 2021 graduate from John Hardin High School, is working toward an Associate
in Applied Science degree in Air Conditioning Technology. He chose that program because
he likes working with his hands and likes working outside.
“It’s interesting and the pay is good,” he said. “Plus, it’s my way of doing something
that matters.”
Fuller attends ECTC because it is close to home, has experienced professors and flexible class options, and offers the same opportunities as a larger university but at a fraction of the cost. In addition to his HVAC coursework, he also is taking classes in Electrical Technology, with the option of also being an electrician if he wanted a dual trade.
“ECTC has made it really simple to work to the best of my abilities,” he said. “And without the Metallica Scholars Program, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Even though ECTC is less expensive, I still have to pay tuition. I’d just like to say thank you to the Metallica Scholars Program for this support and for pushing me toward my goal.”
