$99 - Computer for Beginners Level I

You'll be introduced to the features and uses of computer hardware and software.  The course presents an overview of computers and their history, and discusses the various hardware components, operating systems and application software types with which beginning computer users should become familiar.  You will learn how to use a mouse, e-mail, and send/open attachments, make airline reservations, find a job and more.

 

$99 - Computer for Beginners Level II  

If you know the basics of how to operate a computer and navigate the internet, it is time to go to the next step.  This class will introduce you to file management, advanced Internet searches, Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Excel.  It will also explain other software that is available and the benefits of each software product.  You need only have a basic understanding of computers. 

$99 Microsoft Excel Level I  

Get started with creating, modifying, printing, and formatting worksheets, working with basic formulas and functions, using multiple worksheets, enhancing worksheets, using styles and auto formats, and working with charts.

$99 - Microsoft Excel Level II  

You will learn more advanced uses of Microsoft Excel to include more detailed formulas and function usage.  Visual representation of data will be explored using the various graph functions available.  Formatting of worksheets, filtering data, and much more will give you a more in-depth understanding of the power of Excel.

$99 - Microsoft PowerPoint 

Have you always wondered how others create those amazing presentations using PowerPoint?  This course will get you on your way to creating effective presentations that will enable you to more effectively inform your audience and keep their attention by incorporating the features of slide transitions, graphics, etc. into your presentations.

$99 - Getting Started with Adobe InDesign 

Adobe InDesign is just one of the applications offered in the Creative Cloud Collection.  InDesign is one the most popular desktop publishing application on the market today.  Many individuals and businesses use the app to create professional-quality letterhead, business cards, brochures, forms, annual reports, posters and much more.  If you have obtained a licenses for use but don’t exactly know where to start, then this class is for you!  In the class, you will begin to discover the many features available for producing usable documents. This course is designed as an introduction, but the instructor can also offer hands-on assistance to your specific needs that you can apply directly to your professional development.

$40 - Teenage Driving 101

Do you feel confident that your teenager can drive safely?  Do they understand traffic laws, what to do in an emergency, how to jump a car, change a tire, or what to do if stopped by the police?  This course is designed for new, teenage drivers and their parents.  The course will help students gain knowledge of traffic law, licensing law, automobile safety, and other topics.  For parents, the course will facilitate a conversation between you and your new driver to help foster a safe, responsible understanding of driving and automobile use in the Commonwealth.  All instruction is classroom based.

$75 - Photography for Fun

This course is a beginner’s class in understanding the settings and features on your camera and how to put them to work for you.  We will walk through the settings and options on your camera and explain how they work together, to produce share worthy photos, you created and can be proud of.  The class is not designed to make you a professional photographer, but rather to ease some of the frustrations in trying to understand what some of those buttons and knobs do.  If you have been photographing in “Auto” and want to take the plunge into learning the “Manual” settings/options on your camera, this class is for you.

We communicate to and with others every day.  Whether it's the speech we deliver in the boardroom or the attention we give others when they are talking to us, it all means something.  This session will help participants understand the different methods of communication and how to make the most of each of them.

Build and program a robot using the Lego Mindstorm EV3 Kits. The camp will include techniques for building and programming robots to move and perform tasks.  Topics include, motor torque vs. speed, various types of mechanisms, and programming strategies.

Motorcycle Safety Foundation Basic Rider Course (BRC 1) - $150

We are proud to offer motorcycle safety classes at Elizabethtown Community and Technical College. 

No experience necessary.  

Learn to ride a motorcycle at ECTC.  Motorcycles are provided.  Necessary safety equipment is available for students who do not own their own helmet or riding gloves.

Students must wear long pants without holes or frays, a long-sleeve shirt, and over-the-ankle shoes. Personal gloves must be full-finger gloves.  Personal helmets must be 3/4 or full-face helmets.  All helmets must be DOT approved.  Eye protection is also required if personal helmets do not have visors. 

Classes are delivered over the course of three days: Friday from 6:30 pm - 10:00pm ET; Saturday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm ET; and Sunday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm ET. 

Successful completion of the course will waive the Kentucky Motorcycle License Skill Test.

$100 - CPR and First Aid

This American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Course trains on providing high-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants; important use of an AED; relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (choking) for adults and infants; and so much more. You will also receive the Heartsaver First Aid training that teaches critical skills to respond to and manage an emergency until emergency medical services arrives.

 

$55 - Soft Skills for the 21st Century

The meaning of soft skills can sometimes be difficult to describe.  It can be that unique attribute or characteristic that facilitates great communication.  It can be the special way that you show confidence in a challenging situation. With this class, you will begin to see how important it is to develop a core set of soft skills.

This course will introduce safety in the welding environment with a focus on Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW/MIG).  The course introduces the student to typical weld and material processes and flaws, weld joint design, and welding metallurgy.  This class will help you gain valuable skills to assist you on the farm, at work, or in your job search.  These skills are used in manufacturing, the automotive industry, construction, custom fabrication, and more.  At the end of the course, you will also have the opportunity to take the AWS certification test for an additional cost

$275 - Welding
