CMM student, Metallica Scholar finds success at ECTC
ECTC Computerized Manufacturing and Machining student Rylee Sluder is one of three brothers who attended the college – all studying technical fields. He saw their success and decided the college was where he wanted to study, too. That decision led to his own success and recently being named a Metallica Scholar.
“It means something for me just to be nominated,” he said. “I think being named a Metallica Scholar will help with jobs in the future. Employers will see that designation, and it might make them look at me with a different perspective.”
His instructors praised his maturity and efforts in the classroom.
“Rylee is an outstanding student who consistently goes above and beyond expectations,” said Computerized Manufacturing and Machining Professor Cody Young. “He completes every lab with a high level of excellence and demonstrates strong enthusiasm for his work. His approach to learning with eagerness and dedication sets him apart.”
Sluder, who wants to work in a machine shop after graduating, said ECTC is giving him the skills and knowledge he needs to be in a great position to start a career.
“The classrooms are up to date and the teachers and professors are engaged,” he said. “They really care about your success.”
