Discussion
Lockdown Debriefing
- Cabinet members reviewed the timeline of events and the procedures that were followed on August 19, 2024 when campus went into lockdown due to a shooting that occurred downtown.
- A committee will meet within the next three weeks to finetune our response procedures in the event of a lockdown.
Career Skills Program
- Dr. Pate gave Cabinet members an update on the Career Skills Program. ECTC met with representatives from Fort Knox, USA Cares and other community leaders recently to discuss the future of this program.
US Coast Guard Partnership
- Cabinet discussed a potential partnership with the U.S. Coast Guard in the near future.
Employee Emergency Fund
- An employee emergency fund has been established and is designed to provide temporary support for faculty and staff of ECTC. This fund is primarily intended to support faculty and staff who have exhausted all other means of financial support. Available funding is limited, and not intended to provide support for ongoing or recurring needs. Emergency funding is provided through a one-time payment with no expectation of repayment.
- To be eligible for assistance, the employee receiving support should be currently employed at ECTC and have completed at least six continual month employment.
- Each request for assistance will be reviewed by Human Resources and the Family Scholar House to determine eligibility and award amount.
- Examples of qualifying expenses are emergency housing assistance, unexpected medical expenses, food insecurity, safety-related needs, emergency childcare costs, etc.
Administrative Assistant’s Appreciation Day Event
- Cabinet members discussed employees in their unit they would like to be invited to attend the Administrative Assistant’s Appreciation Day event.
Wine, Women and Shoes Fundraising Event
- Cabinet members discussed the Family Scholar House Wine, Women and Shoes event that will be held at Phillip’s Grove on Thursday, September 26, 2024.
Bellweather Awards
- Cabinet discussed the possibility of pursuing the Bellweather Award, an award that focuses on cutting-edge, trendsetting programs worthy of replication
