Elizabethtown Community and Technical College’s popular summer Kids College returns for another week of fun-filled learning for students who have completed first grade through eighth grade. Registration opened May 1.
“Kids College at ECTC offers a variety of exciting educational experiences,” said ECTC Lead Recruiter and Kids College Coordinator Becca Owsley. “Classes will provide a hands-on, interactive fun designed to inspire young minds.”
The camp, sponsored by Abound Credit Union, will include classes on Beginning Robotics, Baking Fun and Ag is for Everyone. In Beginning Robotics, students learn techniques for building and programming robots to move and perform tasks. Baking Fun participants will learn about food, nutrition and baking. Ag is for Everyone allows students to explore the world of agriculture with live animals, demonstrations and lab activities.
“As the leading Credit Union in Financial Education in Kentucky, partnering with ECTC to offer this unique opportunity for younger students was an easy yes,” said Jake Darabos, Abound’s Chief Finance and Administration Officer. “It’s known that Abound paves way for opportunities – Kids College is an incredible example of our zest to make a memorable difference for Kentucky students,” he added.
Class sections are divided by age. Advanced registration is required, and spaces are first-come, first-served. For more information, contact Becca Owsley at becca.owsley@kctcs.edu or 270-706-8587.
