Elizabethtown Community and Technical College celebrated its Fall 2024 graduation on Tuesday with 150 graduates participating and hundreds of guests attending.
“All of our Fall 2024 graduates have not only changed their lives for the better, but they also are lifting up their families and their communities,” said ECTC President and CEO Dr. Juston Pate. “Whether they are entering the workforce and starting a high-demand career or continuing their education, we are so proud of our new alumni and look forward to seeing the Class of 2024 become part of the next generation of leaders in our region.”
The ceremony, held at Severns Valley Baptist Church in Elizabethtown, honored students who completed their academic programs in the Summer or Fall 2024 semesters. ECTC expects to award graduates approximately 500 degrees and diplomas. Additionally, ECTC students completed about 1,200 certificates.
Credentials awarded include associate in applied science degrees in high-demand career fields like healthcare, business and IT, advanced manufacturing and trades. Graduates also include those who earned an Associate in Arts or Associate in Science and are prepared to transfer to four-year colleges and universities to complete bachelor’s degrees.
State Rep. Samara Heavrin served as the ceremony’s keynote speaker, applauding the graduates’ accomplishments and encouraging them to measure their future success by the kindness they demonstrate to others and the world.
“You are equipped with more than just knowledge. You are equipped with resilience, empathy and a vision shaped by your experiences,” she told graduates. “The world awaits your kindness. Go out there and leave a mark that only you can make.”
