ECTC to host free Spooktacular campus trick or treat event
Published on Oct 22, 2025
A Halloween tradition started in 2012 continues from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, as Elizabethtown Community and Technical College welcomes the community for trick-or-treating across the Elizabethtown campus.
“Every year, our faculty and staff look forward to Spooktacular. Many departments plan all year to make sure the experience is special for each child who walks through the doors,” said Recruitment Team Lead and Spooktacular organizer Becca Owsley. “We hope trick or treaters in our community stop by our beautiful campus, get lots of candy and have fun along the way.”
The college’s largest community event of the year, Spooktacular offers about 30 candy stops, a scavenger hunt with prizes from local restaurants and entertainment venues, games and photo opportunities. Children will receive a free candy bag and glow-in-the-dark bracelet while supplies last. The ECTC Culinary Arts department and Deez Butts will offer food for sale in the Occupational Technical Building and Student Center respectively.
Spooktacular stops will be set up in the following buildings: Occupational Technical Building, Regional Postsecondary Center, Academic Technical Building, James S. Owen Building, Student Center and Learning Resource Center/Collier Library. Visitors can start in any building. Maps will be provided at the event.
