ECTC hosting Spooktacular trick or treat events

Elizabethtown Community and Technical College invites the community to celebrate Halloween with a campus-wide trick-or-treat event, a tradition of nearly 15 years. The ECTC Spooktacular, held 3-6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 27, will feature fun, food, candy and more.

“Faculty and staff at ECTC look forward to Spooktacular all year, working hard to make sure each child has the best experience possible when they come to campus,” said Recruitment Team Lead and Spooktacular organizer Becca Owsley. “We welcome families of all ages to visit, get some candy and have tons of fun.”

The college’s largest community event of the year, Spooktacular offers about 30 candy stops, photos with ECTC’s Pathfinder mascot, and walk-through experiences. Children will receive a free candy bag while supplies last. Posters from the Spooktacular Poster Contest will be on display in the “Spooktacular Gallery” on the second floor of the Regional Postsecondary Center. Deez Butts will offer food for sale in the Student Center.

Spooktacular stops will be set up in the following buildings: Regional Postsecondary Center, Academic Technical Building, James S. Owen Building, Student Center and Learning Resource Center/Collier Library. Visitors can start in any building. Maps will be provided at the event.

ECTC’s extended campuses are also hosting Spooktacular events. Springfield Campus’ Spooktacular is from 5-6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22 and Leitchfield Campus’ Spooktacular is from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29.
