Elizabethtown Community and Technical College (ECTC) Workforce Solutions will host Distillery Career Fair in partnership with the Kentucky Chamber Foundation, Kentucky Distillers’ Association, Marion County Career Center, and Kentucky Career Center – Lincoln Trail. The event will be held from 12:30-2:30 p.m. ET on July 12 at the college’s Springfield campus, 160 Corporate Drive, Springfield.
The Distillery Career Fair will feature several regional distilleries, including Jim Beam and Willett, hiring mainly for maintenance mechanic positions, but also seeking to fill current openings like hospitality and human resources.

ECTC continues to collaborate with the Central Kentucky Community Foundation (CKCF) to ensure faculty and students can apply for grants from the Kennard and Melva Peden Fund for ECTC, which is managed by CKCF and provides funding to enable faculty and student organizations to further their educational pursuits, supporting activities like professional development, conference attendance and study abroad.

Lesley Downs, originally from Bardstown, is a graduate of the Spring 2020 and first Greater Knox Coding Academy class, whose higher educational journey began at Western Kentucky University with a bachelor’s degree in entrepreneurship and a certificate in distilling arts and sciences.

Dr. Clay Matthews, Associate Professor of English, and Miky Wright, Associate Professor of Mathematics, recently were awarded Certificates of Exemplary Achievement for outstanding course design after participating in the KCTCS Optimizing Online Learning (KOOL) Academy for Hybrid Course Design.

Elizabethtown Community and Technical College (ECTC) has been awarded a $37,500 grant through LIFT’s Operation Next advanced manufacturing certification program. LIFT is a Detroit-based Department of Defense-supported national manufacturing innovation institute. The grant will allow ECTC to add certificates in welding and computerized manufacturing and machining – specifically machine tool operating – to the college’s Advanced Manufacturing Army Career Skills Program (CSP).

The agriculture program at Elizabethtown Community and Technical College (ECTC) will offer an animal science track in Fall 2022. Animal technology, livestock management, and animal nutrition will be required courses for the new track, in addition to the program’s core agriculture curriculum.
