Elizabethtown Community and Technical College (ECTC) Workforce Solutions partnered with local companies to invest $1,277,668 in TRAINS funding for job training initiatives in Fiscal Year (FY) 2022, found a new report on enrollment and workforce development. The Kentucky Community & Technical College System (KCTCS) released its inaugural Workforce and Economic Development Annual Report today – in connection with National Workforce Development Month – the first comprehensive synopsis of activities among KCTCS Workforce Solutions departments.

Now in its 17th year, Elizabethtown Community and Technical College’s Distinguished Alumni program has celebrated the accomplishments of 138 outstanding former students and graduates. These leaders have made noteworthy contributions to their professions and communities, expanding ECTC’s impact across the country. Nominees are now being sought for induction into the 2023 class of honorees.

Elizabethtown Community and Technical College (ECTC), Hardin County Public Library, and Barnes & Noble College will host the Heartland Book Festival, showcasing more than 70 authors. The festival is 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 in the James S. Owen (JSO) building on ECTC’s Elizabethtown campus.

The initiative, in part funded by Kentucky’s Workforce Trust Fund, will focus on the shortage of qualified job seekers in the region’s growing advanced manufacturing sector.
