What This Office Does

The Career Pathways Office prepares second-year students and graduates to transition successfully into the workforce by:

  • Delivering structured career readiness programming such as resume workshops, mock interviews, and networking events tailored to local business needs.
  • Assisting with the preparation of career materials, including customized cover letters and digital portfolios that employers can review for potential hires.
  • Providing accurate wage and labor market information to help employers stay competitive and make informed hiring decisions.
  • Managing employer engagement through Handshake streamlines connections with students for internships, part-time jobs, and full-time positions.
  • Aligning academic programs with workforce needs, ensuring graduates are equipped with the skills your industry values most.

How can You engage with ECTC Students?

  1. Share Industry Insight: Join a career panel or participate in classroom presentations to offer students firsthand knowledge about your industry, trends, and expectations, and help raise your company’s profile among future talents.
  2. Provide Work-Based Learning: Host a summer intern or offer job shadowing opportunities to give students real-world experience while you evaluate potential future hires and gain valuable project support.
  3. Post Opportunities: List internships, entry-level positions, or seasonal jobs on Handshake (ECTC Handshake Employer Registration) to connect with candidates actively seeking to contribute and learn.
