We will continue to do everything we can to make sure you can get the resources you need for future semesters.
Students can purchase books and supplies online at www.shopectc.com. Students can also shop the bookstore in-person (see website for current hours of operation).

Students are eligible for a full refund for textbooks returned during the first week of class in the original condition with a copy of your receipt. If you have dropped a class, you have up to 30 days to return a book in original condition for a full refund. A copy of your receipt and proof of the dropped class is required. All books must have all components and may not be unwrapped or used to be eligible for return.
When your course is over, you can ship your rental book(s) to us for free. Go to www.shopectc.com, click 'Textbook Rentals' and follow the instructions to create your free UPS shipping label.
Your Source for Rental, Digital, and Used Books!
The ECTC Campus Bookstore is operated by Barnes & Noble College and provides our students with a great selection of rental, digital, and used textbooks. In addition to textbooks you will also find they provide many of your student supply needs right here on campus, such as:
- Laptops, printers, and accessories
- ECTC school spirit apparel and gifts
- School supplies
- and Grab-and-Go convenience items or drinks
About Textbook Rentals
Renting textbooks is the best way to save money. You must have a credit card on file to rent, but you can pay for the books with any other form of tender. The last day to return rental books is the Monday following finals week each semester. Rental books must be returned by this deadline or a replacement fee will be charged to the card you have on file. If returning to the bookstore is not convenient, you may also ship the books to us with a prepaid UPS label.
Purchasing Textbooks Online
You may view and purchase a complete list of required course material 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, online at the following websites:
- ECTC Bookstore website (items available at our local bookstore)
- KCTCS Distance Learning Bookstore website (items needed for online classes offered through other KCTCS colleges)
Bookstore Charge Dates
If purchasing books in the ECTC Campus Bookstore, charge dates for Student Financial Aid (SFA) purchases begins 10 days prior to the start of class. Your SFA can be used in the Bookstore or online at the KCTCS Distance Learning site to purchase your textbooks. Additionally, SFA can be used to purchase any other items in the Bookstore, including laptops, printers, book bags, clothing, supplies and more.
You do not need a paper voucher to charge books IF you have a Financial Aid Release (FAR) form on file and your aid is complete. You can check your Student Self-Service to view awards, schedule and bill for tuition. If your aid amount is larger than your tuition amount AND you have a FAR on file with the Financial Aid Office, you are eligible to charge books. You will receive a 'B&N Notification' in you KCTCS Email confirming your aid is now available in the Bookstore.
- If you are interested in purchasing your books ONLINE through the ECTC Campus Bookstore website, you can order before SFA opens. Your books can be mailed to you or you can select FREE in store pickup.
- If you are interested in using SFA or a third party vendor IN STORE, you will need an official copy of your schedule and a photo ID.
The Bookstore only accepts Cash, Credit Cards, Apple Pay, Android Pay & Zip Pay. In addition, online we also accept Paypal.

Need some extra cash?
During the week of finals, at the end of the term, be sure to stop by the Bookstore and sell your textbooks for cash! There are several factors that influence the buyback list, including the condition of the book, instructor requests, and the quantity needed. Workbooks, manuals, codes, software, online components, digital books or ebooks, etc. are consumable items and the bookstore is not able to buy back those items for resale. This is a service, you do not have to sell your books to the bookstore but if you want quick cash, stop by the bookstore (be sure to bring your student ID# and/or photo ID) and let us give you cash for your textbooks on the spot!
