Welcome to the Fort Knox Center!

We are a full service center for all students with personalized assistance for all of your college needs. Choose from traditional onsite classes, online, and Learn on Demand options.  Both day and evening courses are available in 16 week, 12 week and 8 week bi-terms. With Learn on Demand you can complete the class online at your own pace.  There are no assignment deadlines and all testing is online. You decide the format and the length of class!

Classes at Fort Knox are open to all students

Getting on Post

Present your driver's license at the Visitor Center to receive a one year pass.  Fort Knox Visitor Control Center opens 7 days a week from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM, located next to Chaffee ACP.

We are closer to Chaffee Gate than the other gates.  You will find us in Building 65, Room 203.

Apply for admission, meet with an advisor, take your placement exam, have your transcripts  evaluated, and more! Additionally, we specialize in assisting military students with all military portals, and spouses with MyCAA.

GoArmyEd Tuition Assistance

When choosing Federal Tuition Assistance, please follow the steps below to enroll for admission to ECTC.

  1. Go to GoArmyEd:
    1. Click on “Request TA Access”.
    2. Complete the VIA Tool.
    3. Choose "Elizabethtown Community and Technical College" as the homeschool choice.
    4. Select a degree *Soldiers must wait 24 hours for approval of school and degree selection then to step E.
    5. Log in to the GoArmyEd portal to complete the “Common Application” to apply to ECTC.
  2. Request official college transcripts at National Student Clearinghouse to be sent to ECTCadmissions@kctcs.edu or 600 College Street Road, Elizabethtown, KY 42701.
  3. Request Joint Services Transcript.
  4. Schedule Placement Testing.
    *The current COVID-19 placement policy is effective for Fall 2020.  It allows recent high school graduates (Graduated 2016 or after) to enroll in courses based on high school GPA. If you have ACT, TABE, KYOTE or other placement test scores, please submit them. 
  5. Schedule to meet with an academic advisor to enroll for classes.
  6. Request tuition assistance funding through the GoArmyEd portal.
  7. Additionally, the Fort Knox Center specialists are happy to help with tuition assistance requests through the GoArmyEd portal, completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) (use ECTC school code 001991), setting up User Accounts, and answer any other questions.
Advanced Manufacturing Army Career Skills Program (CSP)

Path for training in areas: computer aided drafting and design, electrical technology and engineering and electronics technology. Each program offers an opportunity to earn industry certificates that lead to in-demand careers. Training is available to soldiers at any duty station who have 180 or fewer days of service remaining.

  1. Meet with the CSP Installation Administrator to identify separation date and discuss program options:

  2. Apply for admission to ECTC. Write down Student ID Number.
  3. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and use ECTC school code 001991. Student must apply to enroll into CSP. 
  4. Complete the Work Ready Scholarship application. Student must apply to enroll into CSP.
  5. Request official college transcripts at National Student Clearinghouse to be sent to ECTCadmissions@kctcs.edu or 600 College Street Road, Elizabethtown, KY 42701.
  6. Request Joint Services Transcript.
  7. Schedule Placement Testing.

  9. Meet with the Fort Knox Center Academic Advisor to register for classes.
My Career Advancement Account (MyCAA)

This is a workforce development program that provides up to $4000 of tuition assistance to eligible military spouses enrolled in qualified programs.

  1. Confirm eligibility. Spouse must be active duty and in pay grades E1-E5, W1-W2 or O1-O2.
  2. Call MyCAA and speak to a career counselor to discuss job options and develop an individual career plan at 800-342-9647.
  3. Apply for admission to ECTC. Write down  Student ID Number.
  4. Register and create an account for MyCAA and click on “Get Started”.
  5. Request official college transcripts at National Student Clearinghouse to be sent to ECTCadmissions@kctcs.edu or 600 College Street Road, Elizabethtown, KY 42701.
  6. Schedule Placement Testing.
    *The current COVID-19 placement policy is effective for Fall 2020.  It allows recent high school graduates (Graduated 2016 or after) to enroll in courses based on high school GPA. If you have ACT, TABE, KYOTE or other placement test scores, please submit them. 
  7. Submit an Education and Training Plan. Plan is requested from an ECTC academic advisor.
  8. Register on Military Spouse Education & Career Opportunities (MySECO) and Military Spouse Employment Partnership career portal. If you do not have a DS login, create one. Then register on MySECO as a new user.
  9. Complete the MyCAA Individual Career Plan (MyICP) on MySECO.
  10. Call MyCAA at 800-342-9647 to schedule a counseling appointment.
  11. Schedule to meet with ECTC Academic Advisor to enroll into classes.
  12. Request financial assistance through MyCAA. (All MyCAA processes must be completed prior to class start.)
  13. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and use ECTC school code 001991.

  6. Schedule to meet with an ECTC academic advisor to enroll in classes.
