Eligibility Requirements

The Upward Bound Math & Science (UBMS) program is funded to serve sixty students from the following five high schools:

• LaRue County High School
• Nelson County High School
• North Hardin High School
• Thomas Nelson High School
• Washington County High School

To be eligible for UBMS students must meet the following criteria:

• Be in 9^th-12^th grade at one of our five target schools
• Be ages 13 to 19
• Be a US citizen or permanent resident
• Demonstrate need for academic support

Per regulations, two-thirds of UBMS participants must meet federal low-income guidelines and must be potentially first-generation college students (i.e., neither parent has earned a baccalaureate degree). Therefore, preference may be given to applicants who meet these requirements. We can only accept 60 participants every year.
