Automotive technology instruction at Elizabethtown Community and Technical College (ECTC) will include new offerings in January through Toyota’s T-TEN (Technician Training and Education Network) as a designated Technical Education College Support (TECS) Elite certified training center. A partnership of Toyota, community colleges and vocational schools and dealerships, T-TEN is an industry-leading training program that develops factory-certified technicians, providing state-of-the-art, hands-on automotive diagnosis and repair training with an emphasis on the skills needed to excel in the automotive industry.

Once again, Family Scholar House (FSH) has celebrated Thanksgiving by distributing meals to Elizabethtown Community and Technical College (ECTC) students and their families in need. Thanks to a meal drive supported by the community, FSH was able to feed 100 families, a total of 448 individuals. Last year saw the distribution of meals to 65 families, 343 individuals.

For the second year in a row, Elizabethtown Community and Technical College (ECTC) has celebrated the tenacity and dedication of first-generation students through First Generation Week. Nearly one in five ECTC students is considered first generation, meaning neither parent holds a college degree. From Nov. 6-8, the college hosted events that raised awareness of the unique obstacles these students may face and fostered connections between students and community members with similar experiences.

Elizabethtown Community and Technical College is now accepting nominations for the 2024 Beacon of Light Awards, which honor African Americans in the ECTC service area (Breckinridge, Green, Grayson, Hardin, LaRue, Marion, Meade, Nelson, Taylor, and Washington counties) for their successes, exemplary service to their professions and communities, and their commitment to servant leadership and equity.

Central Kentucky Community Foundation will match all donations to Elizabethtown Community and Technical College’s Home for Hope campaign, up to $100,000, the college announced today. The dollar-for-dollar donation match, which runs now until Dec. 4, will support ECTC and Family Scholar House’s efforts to build on-campus housing for student parents.

Elizabethtown Community and Technical College (ECTC) Workforce Solutions will offer a Korean Culture and Conversation Essentials class through the college’s community education program. The course will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, Nov. 14 and 16 in room 131 in the James S. Owen building on ECTC’s main campus.
